Horn of Africa Mental Health Association is a non-governmental and non-profit organization dedicated to providing mental health first aid training and awareness for the high school and higher education specifically within the state of California. We aim to de-stigmatize mental illness within communities. Some of the programs we wish to offer include Adult Mental Health First Aid (AMHFA) and Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) training that will aid community members to understand how to best support their loved ones. Learning more about the signs and symptoms of mental illness can help combat negative perceptions and provide early intervention.
